Keep It Classy

When confronted with business realities and LIFE. It may at times be challenging to keep our composure. Let alone if on the one end we’re being told as women not to be to demanding or overbearing or ultimately b*tchy.

As women it’s a truth that must be faced however, we decide how we want to be perceived. It’s our lack of self control or self awareness (which we are responsible for) that little by little leaves a breadcrumb of who we are becoming.

Opting to have a creative venture is one of the ways we can truly discover what makes us, us.

Deciphering our true motives and intentions behind our pursuits is key. Our we doing it for ourselves? Our people? Our community? Our family? To what end?

Might our emotions be justifiable in a moment of discontent and discomfort? Absolutely.

However, there is a time and a place. And learning to understand the nuances of life is one of the many gifts we’ve all been granted.

When you’re cranky, sleep deprived, hangry, overwhelmed, tired, annoyed, aggravated…

Keep In Mind:

Keep It Classy

PERCEPTIONS

The brands we build, the person we choose to become over time, the way we carry ourselves. The tone of our voice, the insecurities we have, the lack of tact we may exhibit, everything will inevitably be perceived in a multitude of ways.

In the present time, our peers, family and whomever happens to be present at the time of an event will inevitably mark a moment that little by little defines the overall version of us we are known to be.

We cannot control the perceptions of others, as others can’t control the way we see things.
We can however, take the time to reflect and choose to be better if and when necessary.

If our overall mission is to bring people together, love, and encourage them, our approach to growth and self development in order to build, strengthen, and bring joy should to be rooted in selflessness not selfishness.

When we seek to become better for the unit, there is a greater strength that arrives, one that must be dealt with appreciation and care so as to not abuse it.

Priorities as a Multi-Passionate Entrepreneur

Multi-passionate entrepreneurs as Marie Forleo opts to define it …have several interests, passions,& career paths they may pursue at any given time.

Marie herself is a dancer, podcaster, business coach and much more.

If you’ve just recently started your entrepreneurial journey you may be starting to notice the multiple roles you ought to play with your business just to keep it moving. There’s the financial side of things, prep work (gathering supplies, materials, resources) , marketing and advertising, customer service, and of course delivering on the product or service…just to name a few.

If you’ve been on the journey for a little you may be have confronted some “growing pains". These include, feeling like there is just not enough time in the day to complete all the things. As a result you may just now be considering hiring help or outsourcing certain tasks but being used to being the one person to take care of it all has you in turmoil about relinquishing control. Realizing just how valuable your mind and body are and that maybe just maybe yours doesn’t follow or want to adhere to “typical, common” diets, sleep habits, because ultimately you’ve chosen a path that many would rather not consider. If you do pursue it though your particularities will start to speak & radiate through, take a moment to observe & listen.

Having attempted to do it all at an early age I’ve had my share of burnouts. Having multiple passions and interests doesn’t make things easy. However, I wouldn’t give that up. One of the best ways to help sift through the plethora of opportunity involves asking some serious questions. Among them:

  • Will I regret not pursuing this path?

  • How does it contribute to my overall vision?

  • Am I willing to confront the challenges (stress/anxiety) that will inevitably come in pursuit of this goal?

  • Am I becoming the person I am aiming to become?

Regardless of the journey you opt to take there will be haters, contrarians, doubters, bullies. Sometimes these beings are people with close access. Coming to the the realization that these people are simply at a different place in their journey helps to view their comments perhaps even hatred through a different lens. This perspective will help give you freedom from those negative comments to then be able to follow through on your goals without leaving you with newly formed hatred or resentment towards them. Your time is far too precious to be lost in pettiness or hatred. Use the fuel generated by such things instead to CREATE.
