The Sunshine Within | August 2022

Happy Monday! ☀️

How amazing is it that it’s the eighth month of the year already?!?

Take this Monday to reflect on the wealth and abundance among that which surrounds you.

If you’re seeing this, you have greatness within you.

Humbly Embrace all that you are.

Make the younger version of you proud and the future version of you worthy.

History shares patterns and pain with nothing to gain and yet habits that will lead us to the same yet remain.

Courageously move forward.

Be determined to live each moment with blissful joy as you diligently pursue your life’s work.

Don’t allow negativity to crush your dreams.

Don’t allow the darkness to win.

It may take sometime before you can radiate outwards the sunshine within, but work on this. Your daily life will reflect everything you choose to ignore, become, entertain or deflect.

But if patterns hold true, history rewards those on a lifelong pursuit.

Some with physical treasures, others with time, others with wisdom, understanding, and some with artistic talent, just to name a few. Rewards need not be the primary goal, after all, we don’t know just how long we are here for.

Cherish each moment as if it were your last, but naively pursue goals that will outlive you. The ripples we make while we’re around have a way of affecting others and sticking around.

If you’ve made it this far, I’d like to thank you for your time, as you’ve now intertwined your journey with mine.

Have yourself a Marvelous Monday!

Action Moves.

[430AM]

What are they?

How do you use them?

Why do you use them?

MORNING STORY.

So this morning, I woke up having slept minimally.

I had two options. One go back to sleep because I only slept 2-3 hours.

or

Stay awake. Oddly enough although I am well aware of the sleep that I lack I had to look up info and start writing.

I’ve been diligently hammering out the details of the videos and podcast outlines (personal and collabs 😊) within the nooks and crannys of my time.

These matter because I’m working out the details to some projects that have taken quite a bit of time to come to fruition.

ACTION MOVES♟.

But back to these action moves. The moments in time that we decide to take action immediately after a thought are so valueable. Action moves are tiny actions we take towards getting us to actually do the thing we know we want, need, have or should to do, they are the catalysts of your progress regardless of your project & the building blocks that comprise your vision.

A little over a year ago… maybe two,I first came across Mel Robbins “5 Second Rule.” That to me is a type of action move. If you haven’t checked out the rule by all means do. She has YouTube videos where she goes in depth.

Just to accomplish the task of writing a post today included the following action moves:

  1. Put headphones on so that click noises don’t wake up others ☀️

  2. Create of Canva, upload images and clips for video promo. Experiment with a few looks.

  3. Sit up.

  4. Start typing.

  5. Quick reread…. “wait, that doesn’t make sense”

  6. Delete what didn’t make sense.

  7. Write some more.

  8. Reread.

  9. Post , Post and

  10. Check actions moves off of

    KEEP IN MIND LIST.

P. S. Create Something Today ☀️

Facing your own insecurities, self-doubts, issues and faults is a part of deciphering yourself

[3AM]

As someone who’s struggled with low self-esteem along other likely undiagnosed things which maybe someday I’ll go to the doc about.

It’s rather easy to get triggered by negativity.

To allow someone to take your inner peace because they can’t seem to find their own.

I haven’t always dealt with it in the best of ways if we’re being completely honest.

I can recall being called a “stupid-mexican” by one of my peers in what was it maybe 4th or 5th grade just because we were all playing some game in gym and I got distracted… so I was in their way. Which yes admittedly I was. But I wasn’t trying to start trouble. I must’ve been in some idea 💡 loop, to get distracted. Mind y’all I knew it took me hours of isolation and dedication to achieve the good grades I did earn, but it hurt nonetheless.

YEARS LATER

Approximately 4 years later, in the 8th grade when I dated my first boyfriend. The same peer, thought it appropriate to tell my best friend at the time, that they couldn’t understand how my boyfriend and I ended up together. He was weird and I was ugly. Oooff!, I’ve Yet to understand where all their hate came from. I can only guess but that’ll have to be a conversation for another day.

The reason why I’m bringing up these two instances that I’ve carried with me for over a decade is because bullies exist even in adulthood. Admittedly sometimes I’ve caught myself in moments where I’ve displayed behavior that wasn’t called for. And that’s what I think might make the difference …admitting when we are wrong. Or even admitting we don’t know or we need help. Or admitting that to some degree we might be jealous or envious perhaps even intimidated. Maybe it’s something to be determined on an individual basis, whether it should be shared. However, part of deciphering yourself involves facing your own insecurities, self-doubts, issues and faults. Take the time to gain understanding of all your scars and wounds, regardless of when and where they were created.

A Time to Reflect… | Resolutions & You |Part 2

There’s a difference between planning and actually making something happen. (As someone who loves to live in the world of thought this right here has been quite the challenge.)

However, if you do one without the other there are items that might get overlooked.

As human beings we are imperfect, we make mistakes. It’s our outlook, our perspective on how we handle the loss or “failure” that will play a major role in the next step.

As someone who loved school, one of the most challenging times or perhaps one of the most memorable moments was getting an F in Earth Science. Looking back now I see the many factors that played into that grade. At the time however, it was devastating. I said things to myself along the lines of “ but you’re supposed to know” , “ how could you fail?” “You can’t recover from this.” You see it was the first of many scholastic failures that I didn’t know I would face. It was also, a true depiction of what my mindset was developing into. A fixed mindset. Which although I believed in learning it is now clear to me that I was headed down a path that I would not be happy with presently.

Our influences play a major role not only in how we see the world but how we operate in it. Learn from someone who’s timid, shy and hesitant and that’ll influence you. Learn from someone who’s outgoing, outspoken and courageous and the same could happen. Who has the better approach to life? Ahh in my humble opinion it’s the combination of the views. The one sees where the other cannot and even if they still miss something together they can figure it out.

Now, with time I’ve noticed yes, these can be roles held by multiple people but the same can apply to an individual. If a single person can pinpoint when it’s the right time for the given perception then it becomes “the time to plan” or the time to take action.”

As you take the time and put in the effort to making your resolutions a reality ask yourself where on the planning scale the resolution falls. If you’re past the planning stage how far along on the action step timeline are you. Reflection is a key component of resolving.

Tip for waking up early in the morning…

Woke up at 5 am today.

Waking up early wasn’t always a skill of mine. I recall being annoyed at the fact that I had to wake up at 7am or 8am to go to school and I liked school.

So why and how come I am awake this early today.

One thing I’ve noticed works is pairing up an enjoyable task with some perhaps less enjoyable. For example, today, I get to write in my blog and prep for the content /videos that I’m looking forward to posting but I also have to finish some paperwork. In the meantime, I’ll prep my morning tea so that I can drink it while I’m dealing the inner battle of wanting to go back to sleep.

The water is ready so I’ll talk to y’all later!
Have a wonderful day!

QOTD: What time do you prefer to wake up and why?

Resolutions & You

It’s the time of the year that many decide going about executing their resolutions. Are they wrong? Or do they have it all figured out?

I’m a human that enjoys taking into consideration multiple perspectives at once and though I love thinking big picture I can see the value a small detail can play in altering the potential result for a particular individual.

RESOLUTIONS.

They can be MAJOR turning points, if you allow them to. To create a bit of clarity as to what we’ll define a resolution let’s turn to Merriam-Webster,

resolution:

1: the act or process of resolving: such as

a: the act of analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones

b: the act of answering : SOLVING

c: the act of determining

Furthermore, NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS, are simply resolutions that you happen to make on January 1, [Insert Year], (if we’re assuming everyone uses the Gregorian Calendar… which not everyone does.)

Questions: Did you set yourself up with some resolutions for this year? Do you refer to them differently? What are your perspectives and recommendations for others?

P.S. These tidbits of information and questions got me to thinking where do I stand when it comes to resolutions and so I’m working on a video to post 😀

Do What You Love vs. Love What You Do |The Entrepreneurial Mindset | Part 1

[TIME: 4:00 AM]

Do What You Love vs. Love What You Do

Regardless of whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or a newbie you’ve more than likely heard of the phrase, “Do What You Love …and You'll Never Work a Day In Your Life.” Now some might interpret that quite literally. As if choosing what you love, your passion, won’t require any effort, or yield any stress.

Having control over your time is by far one of my personal favorites when it comes to entrepreneurship. That freedom however comes at a cost. Having worked in retail and then in the banking industry I know what its like to be given a schedule to adhere to and the sense of structure it provides. Where as, when it’s your business you’re fully in control of that decision process, until you consider the needs of any other parties involved, including your clients. On the one hand you’re saving yourself the hassle of trying to figure out when to work. On the other, let’s say you have a doctor’s appointment coming up, you can simply schedule around it instead of having to fillout a form, that then the manager has to review and determine whether your shift can be covered. The cost of your time freedom if you’re an entrepreneur is time itself. Time to determine what your workflow is like based on the task at hand or time investment in such a way that you aquire skills that save you time therefore, multiplying your results in the longrun. Something to note is that what works for one individual may or may not work for another so inevitably if the task involves more than one party it will require communication, time and effort better known as work.

All tasks, entrepreneurial or not require some type of work be it mental or physical. It's our perception of the work that will determine how stressful or how enjoyable the work is. “Do what you love” will get you to identify with entrepreneurship but “loving what you do” will show your commitment to that love when challenges inevitably show up. It’s all part life. If we ourselves, are imperfect then inevitably somewhere along the lines of accomplishing a task some imperfection will come up whether it's us making a mistake or someone else, it happens. I've found myself more inclined to accept this the more familiar I’ve become with the concept of failure. My own failures have allowed me to grow emotionally. However, learning from the failure of others is what's enabled me to value and hold multiple perspectives, even when I disagree.

Loving what you do may seem selfish… to be continued…

What is mindset?

Written: October 14,2020 || Posted: October 16,2020

What is mindset?

According to Merriam-Webster it is a mental inclination, tendency, or habit.

According to Google it is the established set of attitudes held by someone.

The slight variance in definitions would lead some to assume that such inclinations, tendencies or habits may be changed while others form the belief that such things cannot be changed as often times something that is established isn’t altered.

Again I ask you, what is mindset?

As I have come to realized a mindset is like a filter through which the information that comes our way makes it’s way as though it were tea leaves or coffee beans being freshly brewed.

As the information makes its way through the filter it may lead one individual to make a decision in their life that will forever change them for the better while others for the worse. But who is who to judge another being? And yet that is how we live our days making judgements or decisions that lead us down the path we choose, at times in disagreement with others.

Past experiences, feelings, and beliefs come together to make up the mindset you and I currently have. And though we may agree on some things it is likely we won’t see 100% eye to eye on everything.

As entrepreneurs our mindset is one if not the greatest asset we have. Taking care of our brains begins with not only healthy lifestyle but also carefully analyzing the information we allow to alter our perceptions. We’ll dive deeper on the entrepreneurial mindset in the next post, talk to you soon!
